This Obi is created by "Yuzen" method, which is a type of silk fabric using a Japanese traditional resist dyeing technique. Kyo Yuzen, Kaga Yuzen and Edo Yuzen are well-known. These were named after the places that each silk came from: Kyoto, Kanazawa and Tokyo. While the Kyo and Kaga Yuzen are colorful with a rich variety of multi colors, the Edo Yuzen is sophisticated with a few quiet colors.
In general, obis can be a single fabric or double ones. This obi comprises two different materials: base material plus thin sheer linen on it. On the base, wave pattern is designed in a modern way with several cool colors, and the second one overlaps it. Through the upper linen, which is Ojiya chijimi with a beautiful gradient, the wave pattern impressively appears.
This obi is comfortable to wear throughout Summer for its lightness - material and impression, which adds flavors when matched with various kimonos.
